Hello everyone! It’s nice to meet you. My name is Sydney, and welcome to my blog!

I’ve never had a blog before, so this is going to be an exciting journey and kind of a learning experience for both of us. But I’m excited to share some thoughts with you guys and discover the world that is blogging.

Now you maybe wondering... who is Sydney?

The Writer Behind the Blog

I am a senior at Missouri State University studying Public Relations with a minor in Advertising and Promotions. As we approach a looming graduation date in May, I am currently applying for jobs and seeking a full-time position to work with communications, content strategy, event planning and digital media.

I have a lot of creativity in my head, and I express myself through different outlets like singing, drawing in my bullet journal, taking photos, and exploring different fashion trends. However, I've never had a creative outlet for writing. So, naturally, I am trying something new and planning to figure it out along the way. I hope you'll join me on this journey.

Things to Inspire Me

I am passionate about creating, learning and listening.

Creating. DIY speaks to my soul. I love to support local business, but if there is any way for me to recreate something instead of buying it, I will jump at the chance. Any opportunity to create - crafts, painting, bullet journaling, redesigning my room, baking an overambitious Pinterest Recipe you name it. (I am on my fifth attempt at making macaroons and they will happen eventually.)

Learning. Coming at a surprise to even myself, I have become something of a history fan recently. Anything old fascinates me, and I find myself at home in antique malls and thrift stores. I watch history documentaries constantly, I’m currently reading a biography on Eleanor Roosevelt, and I’m growing a pretty steady record collection. (If you need a great Netflix documentary recommendation, I highly recommend “Secrets of Great British Castles.”)

Listening. To bounce off learning, I love to listen. I have absolutely hopped on the podcast train with both feet. I'll have a blog post coming up with my most recommended podcasts for history, interviewing, politics, and some just for fun. On the other end of listening, you will rarely catch me sitting in silence when I could be listening to music. Follow me on Spotify (@waltxsydney) to see some of my favorite music at the moment, but to be completely honest, I spend most of my time between my worship playlist and the Billie Holiday artist radio.
