Welcome back, friends!
If this is your first time to my blog, hello! My name is Sydney, and get ready to see a ton of pictures of my face.

Last week was absolutely chaotic between helping host the #ShowMePR regional conference for PRSSA, finishing up a major class competition and attending the Outcry tour. However, in the midst of the chaos, I was able to meet up with my dear friend Kaitlyn to take some graduation pictures. Springfield didn't hold back the wind, but Kaitlyn worked her magic and somehow managed to take some incredibly beautiful photos for my grandparents' fridge!
Today, I am excited to share with you some of my favorites! If you are in the Springfield area and need graduation photos done, I highly recommend Kaitlyn. You can get in touch with her through Facebook and Instagram (and I really hope you do).
The Tassel is Worth the Hassle
My time at Missouri State wasn't a hassle. In fact, I'm terribly grateful for all of my experiences, opportunities, professors and friends. A post will be coming about that later, but for now, just know I feel incredible blessed to be a bear.
The Young Professional
Kaitlyn was able to snag some professional head shots during our photoshoot, and wow - she did not disappoint. Here are a few of my favorites!
My Graduation Cap Design & Story

I wrestled with an idea for my grad cap for months (and I wish I was exaggerating on this timeline).
I wanted to capture how big of a role my faith had in my college journey. I wanted to honor my parents and thank them for all of their support. I wanted my cap to mean something to me and my family. Of course, I wanted it to be pink and have rose gold accents.
How could I do it all?
I started thinking back to the lessons my parents taught me growing up, and one saying kept popping up in my head over and over again - "Go be a blessing to someone today."
My dad used to tell me this everyday before dropping me off at school. My mom encourages me to impact someone else's day even if mine was a little off. There was always a brighter side to everything.
Over and over again, my family reminded me of the small impact I can have on the lives around me. I can step out in one act of kindness to bring a little light. I have the power to make a positive difference in the world around me.
So, Mom & Dad, this cap is for you. Thank you for being a blessing in my life and showing me how to return that favor to the world.

Okay, I Have To Talk About the Wind
To end this blog post with some laughter, I thought I'd share with you all the featured character throughout our entire shoot - the wind.
I've lived in Springfield for four years now, so you'd think I'd have a grip on how windy it can be. I can usually tell the days that I definitely shouldn't wear a dress, style my hair or put on winged eyeliner for fear of wind-induced tears.
I was wrong.
It was estimated that maximum gusts hit 42 miles per hour during our photos. FORTY-TWO MILES PER HOUR.
It definitely made for some hilarious outtakes, so enjoy my misfortune. I sincerely hope it brings you joy or even the smallest laugh.
SIDE NOTE: Yes, the wind did catch my fully-decorated cap and fling it into our iconic Missouri State fountain. Not much of a story there - it's just unfortunate and only a little funny.

Again, I stress - if you need graduation photos from someone who is patient, creative, reasonably priced and an all-around beautiful human, please check out Kaitlyn. You will not be disappointed!
Now begins the countdown to graduation! As I am writing this post, I will don that beautiful maroon and polyester dream in 28 days.
Check the blog next Friday for some bullet journal inspiration and possibly a peek into my own journal. As always, I hope to see you on Twitter or Instagram to catch up on music recommendations, what I'm currently reading and highlights of the beautiful spring weather that is finally hitting Springfield!
I bid you adieu and until next time!
